The Burren region of north Clare and south Galway is renowned worldwide for its striking karst geology, its diversity of wildflowers, stunning landscapes and archaeological sites.
Local professional guide John Marrinan will welcome us to his farm and guide us through the surrounding Burren, sharing its secrets, mysteries, scents and silences of this beautiful dramatic landscape.
Suitable for all levels of fitness, this walk will be at a leisurely pace and is suitable for most walkers and not too strenuous.
You will need proper walking shoes, and we suggest dressing warm (layers would be good) with a rain coat and perhaps a small back pack or easily carried bag if you need to shed some layers or carry a bottle of water. The farm visit and walk are approx. 3 hours in total. Refreshments will be served.
Due to the protected geology and important archaeological significance these tours will be limited in group size. We need a min of 20 per tour for it to happen.
